Miguel holds a degree in Engineering and an MBA. He has worked in the IT Industry since 1993. Since his start at SAP in 1997, Miguel participated in multiple transformation programs at key Utility Companies in Europe. Miguel is, since 2005, Industry Director at the Industry Business Solutions Team in SAP EMEA with responsibilities of Business Development across the entire region of Europe Middle East, Africa. Since 2011 is the SAP lead for Utilities in the EMEA region. In 2017 Miguel became the General Manager for the entire Energy and Natural Resources sector in EMEA North with end to end business responsibility of 4 industry sectors: Utilities, Oil&Gas, Chemicals and Mills and Mining.

Since January 2019, Miguel heads up the IBU Utilities at SAP, with Global responsibility on the SAP Business in the utilities industry.

Miguel is an active contributor to different working groups in Europe that are shaping the future of Utilities Industry, in particular to the ETP SmartGrids  (www.smartgrids.eu) and to ESMIG – European Smart Metering Industry Group (www.esmig.eu) where he drives focused initiatives. Also invited speaker in many international conferences, in particular across Europe, Middle East and Africa. In 2017 on behalf of ESMIG, Miguel became member of the Editorial Group of the Smart Grids Task Force for Electricity and Gas Data Format Procedures advising the European Commission.

Annemarie Groenewald, Head of ERP Revenue Department, City of Cape Town

Annemarie has been working for the City of Cape Town for the past 35 years. She has progressed through the ranks from an Enquiry Clerk up to Accountant. Annemarie has no formal or SAP training. In 2002 she joined a project whereby SAP was implemented. She was part of the Device Management Team and in 2006 she  became Head of the Revenue Stream.

City of Cape Town use the modules of SAP I-SU for all business processes – Customer Care, Sales and Distribution, FICA, Device Management, Billing and Invoicing and Debt Management. Their main goal is to ensure that the process for master data is correct, that the correct invoices are sent to the customers and that payment happens.

Annemarie is also involved in any upgrades and enhancement pack upgrades and is involved in projects such as all CRM related enhancements, all SAP Portal initiatives, Mobility and other projects that integrate with ISU.

Currently he’s involved in planning the future of SAP’s utilities solution for E.ON’s division “Energy Networks Germany”. He works mostly in Hamburg, and also lives there with his family.

Peter Molengraaf has been Chairman of the Executive Board of Alliander (largest Dutch Electricity and Natural Gas Grid Operating Company) for the last eight years. At the moment, he advises large and smaller companies in the field of strategy, energy and digitalization. His specific focus is on companies in the field of sustainable energy storage and EV infrastructure. He is a member of the Supervisory Board of Vopak The Netherlands and chairman of the Supervisory Board of Greenflux.

In recent years, Peter also was chairman of Netbeheer Nederland, the Dutch Industry Association for Electricity and Natural Gas Grid Operator companies. Peter Molengraaf previously worked in various management positions at Nuon (2005-2009) and Shell (1990-2014). He studied Informatics at the Delft University of Technology and holds an MBA from the Rotterdam School of Management at the Erasmus University. Afterwards he participated in Executive Programs of INSEAD in Fontainebleau and Singularity University in the US, California.

Olaf Nattenberg has worked for more than 20 years with GIS in a number of different businesses. For the past 10 years he has wored as an employee at Westnetz where he is now the Head of the Documentation Department.

The department uses Esri and AED-SICAD technology, as wellas SAP to bring more than 40.000 changes per year into the GI-system.

He is a member of committees like DVGW and FNN and gives several talks and writes publications about his work.

Clive was a founding Xoserve Executive member and was Head of Customer Operations between 2004 and 2007. He moved to National Grid in 2007, where he was responsible for developing and implementing their customer experience management strategy.

In 2010, Clive started as Head of Retail Strategy for Southern Water, where he went on to spend four years leading their retail price review, as well as being accountable for their business customers.

Clive worked as a consultant for a number of energy and water retailers, before returning to Xoserve in 2017.

As Xoserve's Chief Commercial Officer (CCO), Clive is responsible for managing the breadth and depth of commercial risk and building a cohesive commercial unit within the organisation.

Inge is also responsible for translating business strategy into an ICT-strategy and implements the overall ICT-program to achieve the companies’ goal.

Cristina Orodel is a passionate, driven ICT enthusiast with a strong desire to spot the missing links between people, systems, and processes and finding out-of-the-box, highly innovative ways to overcome these and help the business grow and move forward efficiently.

Cristina obtained A Master’s Degree in Civil Engineering and Computer Sciences, in 2003. Thanks to her technical and ICT background, she is able to translate what the business needs into the appropriate technical solutions. Furthermore, she re-engineers processes to make them more efficient and helps people adapt their mindset to accept changes more smoothly. In doing that, she always focuses on the long run and puts the company goals as well as efficiency improvement at the heart of her decisions. That's also where her strong strategic view and mindset play an important role.

With more than 15 years of experience in IT, Cristina has a deep knowledge of and strong track record in successfully managing and executing projects in different areas, ranging from digitalization, Human Resources and logistics to business intelligence, integrations, architecture and asset management. After a first working experience as analyst in the financial sector, she started to work for De Watergroep in 2007.

Since 2018, Cristina is the team manager for Asset Information management at De Watergroep. It is her ambition to provide De Watergroep with the most state-of-the-art solutions within in her domain of expertise. In her new challenge, she will keep pushing De Watergroep to get to the next level of operational excellence. Cristina feels like a fish in the water in an environment where ICT and business, people and processes, and systems and people come together and reinforce each other. Frank Ruland is part of SAP's Global Industry Partner Management within SAP's Global Business Development and Ecosystem organization. Frank is the global lead for the Energy and Natural Resources industries consisting of Chemical, Mill Products and Mining, Oil and Gas as well as Utilities. Frank is responsible for all partner management aspects across SAP’s various partner programs and works closely with the Industry Business Solution teams from these industries also serving on the SAP internal leadership team.


He has been working in the IT industry with SAP with a special focus on supply chain and outsourcing topics close to 20 years holding various positions in consulting, solution management and business development. Most recently before joining Global Partner Management, Frank was part of the Industry Business Solutions organization at SAP supporting two cloud acquisitions. Prior to SAP, Frank worked in the automotive industry at the interface between IT and the business departments. Frank attended the Executive MBA program from Mannheim Business School and ESSEC in Paris.

He holds a degree in electrical engineering from Rafael Urdaneta University (URU) Maracaibo / Venezuela, has a specialization in Electrical Distribution Networks, with an MBA in Business Administration and Finance, with twenty-seven years of experience and extensive knowledge in the processes of operation and maintenance, project and construction of distribution networks, and business processes, developed in 17 years of work in electrical companies of Venezuela (ENELVEN / ENELCO) and Brazil (AES Eletropaulo), holding positions such as, Director of Revenue Management, IT Manager of Technical and Commercial Systems, Distribution Manager and Commercial Management. In addition has ten (10) years of work as Consulting Manager, SAP consultant, Solution Integrator, Solution Architect in SAP information system, training and ERP solution support (SAP R / 3) and the commercial solution for public utility companies IS-U / CCS, such as Enelven and Electricidad de Caracas (Venezuela), PDVSA GAS (Venezuela), CGE + (Chile), Energias do Brasil, Eletropaulo, Neoenergias, CPFL and Comgas (Brazil).

Segalotto leads the "European Utility IT and Operational Technologies Strategies" advisory service, which provides full coverage of the utility industry value chain. In his role, Segalotto covers a wide range of industry-specific themes, including smart grids, mobility, Internet of Things, connectivity and networks, and business systems supporting smart customer operations and digital transformation.

If you ask Filip Vancoillie, water is one of the natural resources that needs to be treated extra carefully.  In his view, the way we as a society handle water today will prove to be crucial for/have a crucial impact on the wellbeing of future generations.

Filip Vancoillie obtained a Master’s degree in civil engineering in 2003. He then quickly started to focus on the role of water in creating a sustainable future and on how water acts as the linchpin between humans, society and nature. Further elaborating his knowledge through several working experiences in Latin-America, Filip obtained a Master’s degree in cultures and development studies. This proved very valuable throughout his career: he learnt how a holistic approach is indispensable. A deep understanding of connecting people and business models, of which technology is needed and how it is used, and of how to identify key processes and their need for change are just a few examples of his skills.

Working at De Watergroep since 2005, he gained deep insights in the organizational processes in how drinking water is delivered to its customers. He successfully managed projects that introduced soft water, reducing scale build-up in De Watergroep’s customers’ water pipes and household appliances. Building on this experience, he then gained expertise in all processes related to how water is extracted, processed into qualitative drinking water and distributed to customers.

Since 2018, Filip is the head of Asset Management for De Watergroep’s distribution network. This newly created division’s mission is to bring the maturity of its asset management to the highest level. In this role, he is at the helm of the De Watergroep’s Non Revenue Water program. This program aims to reduce water leakage and is introducing innovation to push the boundaries of what is achievable in state-of-the-art asset management in order to better satisfy the customers’ needs.

Fabio Veronese is Head of the ICT Infrastructure & Networks Solution Center at Enel. In his role, he oversees the global Information Technology (IT) development for Enel Infrastructure & Networks business line. He leads the Technology and Transformation Committee which is responsible for qualifying and leading the infrastructural transformation projects and for defining technologies, architectures and platforms supporting the digital transformation of Enel.

Previous to his current position, Mr Veronese led the Infrastructure and Technological Services of the IT division of the Enel Group for three years Fabio Veronese coordinates a team of more than 3,000 people between employees and contractors, supporting IT application development in 8 countries. He has 25 years of experience in IT, project management and business transformation and is a technology passionate.

As Head of Infrastructure & Networks Solution Center he led the smart meter project implementation in Italy, and is currently leading the global unification program and the digitalization program for the applications of the Distribution Companies of the Enel Group. As Head of Infrastructure and Technological Services, Mr Veronese led the fastest and massive data migration to the cloud at corporate level, completing the restructuring in the way IT operations were managed in the Enel Group.

Fabio Veronese holds a bachelor degree in electronic engineering from the University of Padova, Italy and a Master’s degree in Leadership Awareness at INSEAD business school.

Jan van den Bremen is the Global Technology Officer and the Global Technology Consulting Lead for the Resources operating group. Accenture’s Resources operating group serves a set of Resources-relevant industries: Energy, Utilities, Natural Resources and Chemicals.


As the Resources Group Technology Officer, Jan is responsible for Technology Consulting, Technology Platforms and Growth of the Technology Portfolio. In this role, he is responsible for helping Accenture and Resources clients define their IT Strategies and leverage emerging technologies to create differentiation and sustainable value in their business. Responsibilities included: Technology Consulting - architects our clients’ transformation journeys, harnessing disruptive technology changes to drive competitive advantage; Digital – Analytics, Mobility, Social and other digital technologies; Infrastructure Services– Technology/Infrastructure/Cloud Consulting and Outsourcing; Next Generation Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP); Other Technology enablement through our Resources Business Services.


In this role, Jan is looking after major platform alliances and assessing the technology industry platforms and start-ups in terms of fit to Accenture’s strategy and investment perspective. I believe that technology is no longer simply a business enabler – it is the driver of unprecedented business innovation spanning virtual and physical realms. Social, mobile, analytics, AI, robotics, cloud platforms, security, connected devices and the Internet of Things, are creating new opportunities for businesses to provide better experiences.

Brad Wasson, Chief Digital Innovation Officer, NB Power

Brad is the Chief Digital Innovation Officer for NB Power. After spending over 25 years in the private sector in the information technology and management consulting sectors, Brad joined NB Power as a Director of the corporate smart grid program in 2013.

In February 2018 Brad was appointed to the CDIO role to develop and deliver the organization's digital transformation strategy. The focus of the strategy is to drive collaboration and innovation in all aspects of the business and to develop digital solutions for internal and customer's use. Brad's responsibilities include converging and leading the information and operational technology (IT/OT) groups, and creating a corporate innovation team. This combined team is called the Digital Technologies organization. The digital transformation strategy is also focused on improving business performance by formalizing and leveraging innovation processes and fostering research and development relationships with external partners. Brad has an undergraduate engineering degree and a master's degree in computer science.
